Backend Software Engineer – Go, Python, AWS

Overview

In this role you will contribute to a global, public-facing web/cloud platform by designing, building and maintaining scalable backend services. You will join cross-functional teams to shape architecture and deliver robust systems that power engineering communities worldwide. You’ll tackle complex workflows and data-heavy processes while partnering with engineers and non-technical stakeholders. This is an onsite position in Cambridge with a strong emphasis on impact, collaboration, and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable web services
• Collaborate within cross-functional teams to align on architecture and delivery
• Contribute to system integration and reliability across platforms
• Translate business requirements into robust backend components and data models
• Participate in code reviews and technical decision making
• Support and optimize cloud-based backend services and deployment pipelines

Key requirements

• 5+ years in web service development and system integration
• Knowledge of software architecture principles and design patterns for web services
• Experience with relational databases
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Clear communication with engineers and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong product ownership mindset
