We are looking to appoint a health care support Assistant who is enthusiastic, motivated with a passion for caring to join our dedicated Team in Dermatology To deliver professional, confident and compassionate care to all our patients in a friendly welcoming environment, ensuring the patient is at the heart of everything that what we do. As a health care Assistant you will work as part of a large multidisciplinary team and will play a key role in delivering the fundamentals of care for patients under the supervision of a nurse, whilst supporting patients to achieve the shared goals. Individuals should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills who are willing to learn and take on new challenges as the service develops.Main duties, tasks & skills required To provide effective clinical support to our patients and our registered nursing staff. Support the systems for a multidisciplinary approach to patient-centered care delivery, which builds on the philosophy of greater involvement of patients and their relatives/carers by using the Trusts patient and public involvement strategy. Deliver patient care including health promotion daily to patients who present with to our department. Have knowledge of all relevant outpatient specialties and be able to facilitate all clinics within the department.
A Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) Level 3. This could be a Vocational NVQ, BTEC or equivalent international qualification in healthcare or able to demonstrate the equivalent level of experience,
- Previous recent experience of working within an acute/ community setting.
- Phlebotomy (Adults)
- Experience of recording Observations
- Experience of taking and monitoring blood glucose levels, Understands the need for strict confidentiality.
- Teaching/supervising others
- Able to work under instruction and under own initiative within the boundaries of the role and aspart of a team.
- Able to work under pressure
- Understands limitations of the role and need to refer to others
