About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Lead Construction Engineer to guide engineering efforts on complex projects from a fully remote location. This senior role involves providing technical leadership, overseeing engineering design, planning, and execution, and ensuring that projects meet all technical specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate closely with remote project managers, architects, and contractors, offering expert advice and solutions to technical challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and mentor engineering teams in a virtual environment, driving innovation and efficiency in all aspects of construction engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and direction for all construction engineering activities across multiple projects.
- Oversee the development and review of engineering designs, calculations, and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Collaborate with project management teams to develop realistic engineering schedules and budgets.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues encountered during the construction phase and provide effective solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff within the remote engineering team.
- Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and construction methods.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in construction engineering , with a significant portion in a leadership capacity.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction methods, materials, and project management.
- Experience with engineering design software and virtual collaboration tools .
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage engineering teams in a remote setting .
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is highly desirable.
