About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Vice President – Operations Administration & Planning to join BNY’s Wealth Services Operations function in Manchester.
This is a senior strategic operations and programme management role focused on driving complex initiatives across the Wealth Services Operations organisation.
You will lead high-impact strategic programmes spanning operational change, risk, regulatory requirements, business initiatives, technology development and major operational enhancements.
The role will involve defining programme scope, governance and delivery structures while working closely with senior leadership and operational management teams to ensure strategic initiatives are delivered effectively.
You’ll operate across multiple areas of the organisation, managing complex dependencies, risks, financial impacts and implementation requirements while providing senior management with clear and actionable insight.
We’re looking for an experienced financial services professional with a strong background in programme management, strategic change, PMO, operations transformation, business management or wealth/investment operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading strategic initiatives across Wealth Services Operations
- Managing complex programmes and projects involving operational change, risk, regulatory requirements and strategic business initiatives
- Defining programme scope, governance structures, delivery frameworks and operating models
- Managing BNY’s operational book of work and supporting planning and prioritisation activities
- Coordinating major operational enhancements across multiple platforms and business functions
- Managing project financials, risks, dependencies, issues and implementation status
- Supporting PI Planning cycles and development planning across Operations
- Working closely with senior management to assess new client, product and market offerings
- Reviewing Business Acceptance Criteria and ensuring operational readiness for new initiatives
- Driving operational transformation, process improvement and continuous improvement programmes
- Partnering with Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Change teams on strategic initiatives
- Identifying operational impacts and ensuring appropriate controls are incorporated into programme delivery
- Providing senior-level governance, reporting and oversight across complex programmes
- Preparing executive-level presentations, management information and strategic briefing materials
- Presenting programme status, risks, financial impacts and key decisions to senior stakeholders
- Acting as a key strategic partner to Operations leadership
- Managing multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously across a complex financial services environment
- Driving adoption of digital tools, automation and AI-enabled solutions across operational processes
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in financial services, wealth management or financial operations
- Proven project or programme management experience
- Experience managing complex strategic initiatives across multiple business functions
- Strong understanding of PMO, governance and programme delivery frameworks
- Experience managing operational change and transformation
- Strong risk, regulatory and control awareness
- Experience managing programme risks, issues, dependencies and financial impacts
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation capability
- Experience working with senior executives and leadership teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong experience producing executive‑level presentations and management reporting
- Proven stakeholder management skills across Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance and Change
- Experience working in highly regulated financial services environments
- Demonstrable interest in AI, automation and emerging technologies
