Clinical Lead – Rydon Ward

Overview

In this role you lead the clinical management of an adult acute mental health inpatient ward, promoting recovery-focused care within a multidisciplinary team. You provide visible leadership, support the Ward Manager, and ensure high standards of care and governance. You will drive service development and supervise junior staff while coordinating care planning, risk management, and safeguarding. Responsibilities

• Provide visible clinical leadership within the ward and promote recovery-focused nursing care
• Coordinate safe, person-centred care for all patients on the ward
• Deputise for the Ward Manager and support day-to-day ward management
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to plan, review and deliver care
• Support, supervise and develop Band 5 nurses and other junior staff
• Act as a role model for professional practice in line with the NMC Code
• Ensure safeguarding, risk management, Mental Health Act and capacity requirements are met
• Promote effective communication with patients, carers, relatives and partner agencies
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement and clinical governance activity

Key requirements

• RMN registration (essential)
• Management/leadership experience or training (relevant)
• Experience supervising junior staff (essential)
• Experience working in a multi-agency service with complex information (essential)
• Current UK professional registration (essential)
• Car driver or access to transport (essential)
