Specialty Doctor in Elderly Care

Overview

In this role you join NCIC as a Specialty Doctor in Elderly Care to support inpatient and outpatient care across North Cumbria. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team at Cumberland Infirmary, extending services to West Cumberland Hospital. The post offers part-time opportunities and is supported by a clinically led, safety-focused organisation committed to sustainable, high-quality care. You will be GMC-registered and contribute to a centre aiming to excel in rural healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient care for Elderly Care and Parkinson’s disease
• Work as part of an integrated service covering Cumberland Infirmary and West Cumberland Hospital
• Collaborate with Consultants, SAS Doctors and Specialist Nurses in a multidisciplinary team
• Support delivery of high-quality care within a rural NHS setting

Key requirements

• Full GMC registration and Licence to Practice
• At least four years post-graduate experience including 2 years in Elderly Care
• Recent experience at CT1 level or above
• Experience of Geriatric Medicine at F2 level or above
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
