Summary

CIS Security has an exciting opportunity for a Security Officer to act as a professional ambassador for the company at the West Country’s premier shopping destination. The site features over 70 leading high street brands and a multi-storey car park with more than 1,200 spaces. It is centrally located, approximately a 10-minute walk from Plymouth train station, with The Barcode leisure complex situated adjacent, offering a cinema, restaurants, bars, and indoor entertainment venues. The successful candidate will be expected to consistently deliver high standards of security, professionalism, and customer service to clients, visitors, and all site users.

  • Shifts: 4 On 4 Off – 13:00 – 21:00

Job Requirements

  • SIA Licence required
  • Security and customer service experience is required
  • Must be flexible and able to work days, nights, weekends, and have the flexibility to change shifts due to operational needs
  • Must have good command of English language
  • Good levels of customer service, communication both written & verbal at all times
  • Flexible in the approach to daily duties and additional events when held on site
  • Maintains working knowledge of security & safety for assigned areas
  • Flexible in approach to daily duties – retail, long periods of standing, patrolling, access control
  • First Aid qualification & a CCTV SIA Licence is a bonus
  • Smart appearance befitting the company
  • Confidence in undertaking 100% of all specific duties
  • Ability to provide all required documentation and vetting information

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and deliver high quality guarding and customer service to customers and service users
  • Work effectively in a team as well as independently, with pro-active approach and quick thinking
  • Stay calm under pressure and handle confrontational situations professionally
  • Physically fit for patrols and able to stand/walk during shifts
  • Confident in writing incident and shift reports
  • Portray a friendly, professional, and courteous demeanor using open and appropriate body language
  • Ensure visitors and staff are dealt with efficiently, providing exceptional customer service and exceeding expectations
  • Have IT skills and the ability to understand and operate various Access Control and CCTV systems
  • Write and reply to emails professionally
  • Exercise command and control effectively, communicate with all peer groups and management levels
  • Understand escalation processes and disseminate information promptly during emergencies or incidents
  • Conduct opening & closing procedures of the building, patrols, and emergency procedures
