Overview

As a Senior Microsoft Power Platform and AI Developer, you will transform complex needs into reliable services with cross-functional collaborators. You will own significant components and end-to-end solutions, guiding decisions across low-code, pro-code, integration and AI patterns. A key focus is engineering AI agents and agentic workflows, ensuring safe, grounded, and observable delivery. You will influence architecture, review designs, and mentor engineers to raise engineering standards. This role offers remote work with travel to client sites and offices in London, Sheffield, and Bristol, with a strong mission to deliver enterprise-grade AI-enabled capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, build, test, deployment and support of Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Copilot Studio) and pro-code extensions
• Engineer AI agents and agentic workflows with trusted knowledge, tools, actions, approvals, human hand-offs, evaluation and safe failure paths
• Design and implement integrations with MCP servers and develop MCP tools using secure, reusable patterns
• Integrate Power Platform/AI solutions with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Graph, Azure and enterprise systems using connectors, APIs and event-driven patterns
• Apply grounding, retrieval-augmented generation, structured outputs, tool calling and model-selection with proper evaluation and controls
• Create custom connectors, plug-ins and Azure-hosted components where needed, selecting technologies by need, risk and supportability
• Set and apply engineering standards for source control, packaging, environment strategy, automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring and release management
• Lead investigations of live-service faults and improve resilience, performance, accessibility, security and observability
• Review designs and code, mentor developers and contribute reusable components and patterns to the engineering community

Key requirements

• Hands-on production experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse and Copilot Studio
• Experience leading AI agents or agentic workflows that use knowledge, tools and actions to complete tasks safely
• Experience integrating or developing MCP servers and tools, including identity, permissions and data flow troubleshooting
• Strong API and integration skills: REST/JSON, custom connectors, OAuth 2.0, Microsoft Entra ID and secure secrets management
• Pro-code engineering capability in TypeScript/JavaScript, C# or Python with ability to extend low-code services
• Strong software engineering practice: testing, version control, code review, documentation, CI/CD, observability and live service support
• Ability to lead technical decisions for medium-to-high complexity work and communicate trade-offs; escalate security risks as needed
• Understanding of security, data protection, accessibility and responsible AI controls for enterprise apps and agents
