Senior Manager -Associate Director, Data Architect, Government & Public Service, AI & Data, Defence & Security

Overview

In this role, you will contribute to high-impact government data initiatives within Deloitte’s Data & AI Architecture team. You will work on client-facing engagements, shaping data architecture and governance across domains, and guiding cross-functional teams. You’ll leverage data lake, lakehouse and data mesh concepts to enable scalable data solutions and support regulatory compliance. The role blends technical leadership with stakeholder management to deliver measurable impact in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Work on client-facing projects and contribute to proposals, presentations, and pre-sales activities
• Lead data design teams and mentor junior talent
• Design and implement data solution architectures including principles and patterns
• Specialize in Data Lake, Lakehouse, and Data Mesh architectures
• Oversee Observability and FinOps aspects within data projects
• Apply data modelling methodologies (e.g., dimensional modelling, data vault)
• Support Data/Information Governance with processes and vendor platforms like Collibra and Informatica
• Align data architecture blueprints across business units and geographies
• Ensure compliance with GDPR and other regulatory requirements

Key requirements

• Consulting experience with client-facing projects
• Hands-on data architecture experience in enterprise settings
• Strong executive-level stakeholder management and communication
• Experience leading data design teams and nurturing talent
• Knowledge of data governance, data modelling, and architecture methodologies
• Familiarity with GDPR and regulatory compliance
• Experience with data platforms and governance tools (Collibra, Informatica)
• Ability to obtain UK security clearance (SC or DV) or already hold clearance
