Electronics Component Engineer

Overview

In this role you will support component selection, qualification, and lifecycle management for advanced HPC hardware. You will collaborate with hardware, PCB, and manufacturing teams to ensure reliable component decisions across complex platforms. The role focuses on obsolescence, supply constraints, and supplier data to sustain long-term availability. You’ll contribute to design reviews and guide component suitability within a fast-paced engineering environment. This is a chance to shape the reliability strategy for cutting-edge processors and accelerators.

Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and manage electronic components for new and existing hardware platforms
• Collaborate with hardware, PCB and manufacturing teams to resolve component-related issues
• Analyse obsolescence risks, supply constraints and long-term availability
• Maintain approved vendor lists, component libraries and lifecycle documentation
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain technical data, evaluations and compliance information
• Support failure analysis, reliability assessments and change-control activities
• Contribute to design reviews and provide guidance on component suitability

Key requirements

• Experience in component engineering, electronics manufacturing or hardware development
• Understanding of semiconductors, passives, connectors and PCB-level components
• Familiarity with compliance, reliability, lifecycle and qualification processes
• Ability to interpret datasheets, reliability reports and component documentation
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
• Degree in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
