Overview

In this role you will lead the design and implementation of automated testing solutions that scale across AlphaSights’ platform, ensuring high quality and reliable user experiences. You work closely with Engineering and Product teams to shape test strategies and CI/CD integration, driving QA standards across frontend, backend, and APIs. You mentor junior QA engineers and influence testing practices, aiming to deliver seamless, scalable automation in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities

• Lead designing and developing automated test plans, suites, and frameworks across multiple projects
• Mentor and guide junior QA engineers to grow automation skills
• Maintain and scale test automation infrastructure to support CI/CD, cross-platform validation, and fast feedback
• Perform targeted manual testing including exploratory testing and UI/UX validation when needed
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and testing priorities
• Drive cross-team initiatives to improve QA processes, tools, and quality standards
• Monitor and triage test failures, producing clear bugs and working with teams to resolve
• Provide feedback on UI/UX and ensure tests reflect real user flows
• Influence performance, load, and security testing strategies and promote automation best practices

Key requirements

• Degree in a STEM subject or equivalent practical experience
• Experience in a senior QA/automation role within a mature engineering team
• Proficiency in designing, building, and scaling automated test frameworks (ideally Cypress or Playwright)
• Programming proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Java
• Ability to architect automation across frontend, backend, and APIs with CI/CD integration
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, data validation (SQL/NoSQL), and microservice-based architectures
• Proven track record of delivering measurable impact in previous roles
