D7 Recruitment is partnering with a growing engineering and distribution business to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Manager. This is a visible, hands-on and client-facing role supporting engineering and service teams working across customer sites throughout the UK.
The successful candidate will help drive consistent Health & Safety standards, working closely with operational teams, managers and client stakeholders to improve performance, strengthen compliance and build a positive safety culture.
This is not a desk-based role. You will be out in the business, supporting teams on client sites, influencing people, identifying improvements and helping teams take greater ownership of Health & Safety.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing practical Health & Safety advice and support to teams working across client sites.
- Supporting consistent H&S standards, policies and procedures across on-site service activities.
- Conducting site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
- Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses and driving corrective actions.
- Supporting the preparation and review of RAMS, permits and safe systems of work.
- Ensuring appropriate contractor and site documentation is in place before work commences.
- Coaching and influencing managers and employees to improve safety ownership.
- Monitoring H&S performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Supporting training, communication and behavioural safety initiatives.
- Helping improve and standardise H&S systems and processes.
- Producing clear reports, recommendations and improvement actions.
- Working closely with internal teams, clients and other key stakeholders.
- Travelling to client sites across the UK as required.
