Security & Systems Account Manager

Overview

In this role you act as the strategic conduit between the client and Mitie across guarding, fire and security systems, and related projects. You will lead transformation, governance, and continuous improvement to deliver compliant, high-performing security services. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and drive data-led insights to optimise delivery. You will build senior-level client relationships and oversee risk, resilience, and business continuity, enabling a One Mitie approach and proactive security culture.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary interface between client and internal service lines to deliver holistic security solutions
• Provide strategic leadership for compliant, high-performing security services across guarding, software platform partner, fire and security systems, and related projects
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to align with deliverables, KPIs, SLAs, and client expectations
• Manage budgets and resources, ensuring efficient allocation and adherence to the billing process
• Lead multi-year security transformation roadmap covering people, technology, systems, processes, and data
• Identify and implement improvements across physical security, resilience, and risk frameworks
• Support integration and optimization of fire and security systems with data-led insights
• Build and maintain senior-level client relationships and provide regular reporting and strategic recommendations
• Oversee delivery of static guarding operations with regulatory and contractual compliance
• Drive calendar of security risk assessments, vulnerability reviews, site visits, and reporting of findings
• Conduct regular physical penetration tests and live scenario training
• Embed workstreams into client governance with defined KPIs and continuous improvement culture
• Promote technology adoption, including Microsoft Copilot and AI, and monitor threat landscape
• Support development of building resilience monitoring using cross-domain data
• Collaborate with property and FM stakeholders to deliver end-to-end security projects
• Drive security system upgrades, access control improvements, and resilience enhancements
• Ensure projects align with security strategy and lifecycle planning
• Support Business Continuity program and ensure integration across resilience functions
• Maintain risk registers, audits, and assurance activity in line with standards and regulations
• Develop and maintain policies, SOPs, and transformation documentation with the team

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Security or Resilience or related field
• Equivalent experience considered; professional memberships and certifications valued
• Project and process management experience; Agile, PRINCE2, or APM certification desirable
• Professional certifications such as CPP, PSP, CISSP, CISM, CBCP desirable
• Minimum 5 years’ security and project management experience; at least 2 years in management
• Proven track record deploying security frameworks in complex environments
• Strong knowledge of legislation, standards, and best practices
• Analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies and tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence stakeholders
• Discretion handling sensitive information; policy and plan development ability
• Microsoft 365 and Copilot competency advantageous
• Audit qualifications desirable; experience with BCM, Operational Resilience or CEM tools
