Associate – Banking & Finance – Cardiff – 2 PQE +

Overview

In this Cardiff-based role, you join a respected national law firm’s Banking & Finance team to handle complex funding transactions for lenders and borrowers. You will work closely with major UK banks and alternative lenders within a collaborative, high-performing environment. You’ll shape financing projects across acquisition, property, and asset-based lending, while coordinating with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities

• Act for major UK banks and alternative debt providers in financing transactions
• Advise on banking contracts and facility agreements
• Support corporate and property teams on multi-disciplinary funding deals
• Handle acquisition finance, property finance, asset-based lending, restructuring and refinancing
• Prepare and negotiate facility agreements and related documentation
• Lead or support transactions from start to finish
• Attend client meetings and coordinate with overseas counsel when needed
• Ensure high-quality drafting, negotiation and commercial advice

Key requirements

• Experience in banking and finance law (PQE level open)
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness
• Ability to manage transactions independently and as part of a wider team
• Proactive, organized and collaborative approach
