Overview

In this role you will drive new business growth for SCC in the North East public sector, expanding our footprint with enterprise technology, managed services and professional services. You’ll build and shape opportunities, engage CIOs and senior leaders, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes, not just close deals. The position combines strategic territory development with hands-on deal shaping in a high-impact, client-centric environment. A strong regional network and the ability to turn white-space potential into structured pipelines are key.

Responsibilities

  • Build and execute a new business strategy across the North East territory
  • Generate pipeline through targeted prospecting and structured engagement plans
  • Identify, re-engage, and grow relationships leveraging SCC’s regional footprint
  • Engage at CIO/senior leadership level, shaping opportunities through early discovery
  • Develop and position enterprise, managed, and professional services solutions aligned to customer outcomes
  • Take full ownership of opportunities end-to-end from creation through to close
  • Maintain accountability post-sale, ensuring alignment between what is sold and delivered
  • Lead virtual teams across sales, technical, delivery, and partners to design and deliver complex solutions
  • Create alignment, clarity, and shared accountability among stakeholders involved in opportunities
  • Build strong internal and vendor relationships to strengthen propositions and execution
  • Represent and promote SCC’s capability, credentials, and success in the region
  • Maintain a robust pipeline and forecasting discipline
  • Deliver against growth and margin targets
  • Make balanced, commercially sound decisions based on what is right for SCC and the customer

Key requirements

  • Ideally degree educated
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • 10 years’ sales experience including ~5+ years in IT services
  • Proven new business sales experience in technology, managed services, or professional services
  • Track record of building pipeline and revenue from cold/white-space territory
  • Experience selling enterprise-scale, complex multi-stakeholder solutions
  • Strong understanding of managed services, enterprise technology, and professional services-led engagements
  • Experience in or alongside public sector organisations is highly desirable
  • Established network within the North East public sector ecosystem is advantageous
