Overview

In this role you will establish and lead the Business Development function for a market-leading executive education provider. You will begin as an individual contributor while shaping structure, processes, reporting and sales discipline to build a scalable commercial function. You will work to meet and exceed revenue targets and broaden client engagement across open-enrolment and bespoke programmes. This is a high-impact role that blends hands-on selling with strategic function development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the business development function with scalable processes and reporting
  • Initially contribute to direct sales while designing the BD framework
  • Develop structure, processes and sales disciplines to support growth
  • Drive revenue targets and expand client base (open-enrolment and bespoke training)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align BD strategy with company goals
  • Mentor or recruit BD professionals as the function matures

Key requirements

  • Significant experience in business development or sales within executive education, professional training, L&D or similar B2B services
  • Proven track record of achieving demanding revenue targets
  • Experience building or significantly improving a BD function
  • Strong consultative B2B sales approach with longer sales cycles
  • Experience selling both open-enrolment and bespoke training solutions
  • Experience using CRM systems such as HubSpot, Salesforce or Zoho
  • Comfortable in a hands-on role where personal sales performance is important alongside building the wider function
