Senior Software Engineer C# Python AI

Overview

In this Senior Software Engineer role you will shape backend systems and cloud-native services for a global reinsurance platform. You’ll work in a small, agile tech team with strong influence on architecture and engineering practices, while embedding AI into the development lifecycle. You’ll focus on backend work (C# and/or Python) and explore AI-enabled productivity and product enhancements using Claude and other tools. This role blends hands-on coding with system design in a fast-moving, greenfield environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend/cloud-native services with C# and/or Python
• Influence architecture and engineering practices in a small, agile team
• Embed AI into the software development lifecycle and product workflows
• Design robust, scalable systems with a focus on frontend-backend connectivity
• Collaborate across teams to align on microservices, CI/CD, and cloud-native patterns
• Explore AI-driven improvements to productivity and product features using Claude
• Operate as an individual contributor with strong problem solving and communication skills
• Support and implement best-practice design patterns and engineering standards

Key requirements

• Strong backend software engineering skills (C# and/or Python)
• Solid CS fundamentals (OOP, multithreading, design patterns) and system design experience
• Experience with cloud-native architectures (Azure or AWS), event-driven systems, microservices
• Proficiency in CI/CD, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker
• Understanding of frontend considerations and connectivity (React or Angular preferred)
• Interest in applying AI to processes and products; experience with Claude or similar tools is a plus
• Collaborative mindset with good communication and problem-solving abilities
• Start-up/small team experience would be beneficial
