Overview

In this role you will help build and operate the Consolidated Trade Ledger (CTL) for Goldman Sachs’ Equities trading, as part of a cloud-native, AI-driven modernization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to extend CTL for global, high-velocity trading while ensuring availability, latency, and resilience. You’ll influence architectural standards, leverage AI tooling to accelerate delivery, and shape the future of global markets infrastructure. This is a rare chance to define foundational systems for a world-leading financial institution and drive meaningful transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate high-availability, multi-region, cloud-native services with built-in security and observability
  • Develop event-driven architectures and data pipelines for trade lifecycle management
  • Collaborate with engineers and domain experts to model and digitize business processes and drive modernization
  • Manage full SDLC lifecycle from requirements to release following Agile best practices
  • Innovate reusable capabilities across Global Markets front, middle, and back office
  • Orchestrate AI coding agents across SDLC to generate production-quality code and accelerate delivery

Key requirements

  • 8+ years of professional Java software development experience (Java 17+ preferred)
  • Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and governance of AI agents
  • Experience building event-driven and distributed systems with messaging (e.g., Apache Kafka)
  • Strong SDLC practices: version control, CI/CD, automated build/test/deploy, code quality tooling
  • Solid testing discipline (unit, integration, acceptance)
  • Ability to understand and debug large codebases, with or without AI assistance
  • Excellent communication and collaboration across geographically distributed teams
