Overview

As Private Client Tax Manager you join a leading private client tax team delivering high‑end advisory and managing a diverse compliance portfolio focused on non‑UK domiciled individuals. You will support seven partners on detailed planning work involving IHT, trusts, and offshore restructuring, while handling HMRC disclosures and bespoke residence/remittance guidance. This client‑facing role involves managing a portfolio of HNWIs and overseeing junior staff, with opportunities to shape the firm’s private client proposition. You’ll work within a culture of technical excellence and collaboration, with clear progression toward Senior Manager and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of high‑net‑worth clients including entrepreneurs, family offices and trustees
  • Lead complex planning work on IHT, trusts (UK and offshore), and non‑UK domiciled issues
  • Handle enquiries, disclosures, and reporting under HMRC’s digital disclosure facility
  • Provide bespoke advice on residence and remittance issues
  • Oversee junior staff and contribute to internal management meetings
  • Support partners on strategy and contribute to shaping the private client proposition through networking and thought leadership

Key requirements

  • Experience in private client tax with high‑net‑worth clients
  • Experience in IHT, trusts, and offshore structures
  • Knowledge of non‑UK domiciled individuals and residence/remittance issues
  • Client‑facing advisory and compliance delivery
