Senior Software Engineer

Overview

In this role you shape the technical direction of Landmark’s software platforms used by oil & gas operators for high-stakes engineering decisions. You own architecture decisions across near- and long-term horizons and raise quality across teams. You collaborate with product management and architects to design major enhancements and serve as the go-to technical escalation point. Your work influences production code and system performance at scale. You will operate in autonomous, high-ownership teams delivering cloud-native SaaS and on-prem solutions.

Responsibilities

• Shape technical direction for assigned products and platforms across planning horizons
• Scope major technical work: estimate effort, identify risks, define delivery approach
• Design and build new applications and major enhancements with Product Management and architects
• Act as the technical authority for your area, guiding hard decisions
• Evaluate architecture for performance, scalability, and security and drive fixes
• Lead design and code reviews focusing on long-term quality
• Challen ge the delivery process to improve feedback and outcomes
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and guidance
• Stay current on relevant tools and technologies and drive adoption
• Own security for your area: set coding standards and drive fixes to completion

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of software development experience
• Deep proficiency in at least one of: Java, C#/F# (.NET), C++, Python, or TypeScript (React/Angular/Node.js)
• Experience designing and owning the architecture of a complex software system or subsystem
• Track record of technical leadership across a team or product area
• Strong communication skills to explain trade-offs to product managers and engineers
