SALARY: £23.45 per Hour basic, £32.83 per Hour OT1 and £42.21 per Hour OT2, with an approximate 11-day gross wage of £3,168.40 including bonus + Benefits (Bonus payment will be discussed)
LOCATION: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, East of England – Accommodation / travel allowance provided where applicable
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, 5 Month Contract (Approx.)
WORKING HOURS: 11-day rotation / 106 hours per fortnight
JOB OVERVIEW
This is an excellent opportunity for a GRP Operative with practical experience in resin, glass fibre, laminating, GRP ducting, GRP pipework or related fibreglass work.
As a GRP Operative, you will prepare and laminate site joints using resin and glass fibre on GRP ducting and pipework, working to site specifications on a major project in Cambridge.
The GRP Operative will join a contract assignment lasting approximately 5 months, with the next available site induction and an 11-day working pattern.
DUTIES
Your duties as the GRP Operative include:
- Prepare Site Joints: Prepare GRP ducting and pipework joints ready for laminating in line with project requirements
- Carry out Laminating Work: Use resin, glass fibre and hand lay-up / wet lay-up techniques on GRP ducting and pipework
- Work on Ducting and Offtakes: Support work on 600mm and 400mm main ducting, with smaller offtakes down to 100mm
- Follow Site Specifications: Complete work accurately, safely and consistently to the required site standards
- Support Pipework Installation: Work with pipework set in pre-installed supports, ensuring joints are prepared and finished correctly
- Use Transferable Skills: Apply relevant experience from GRP pipework, GRP ducting, fibreglass laminating, mould making, vehicle body building, marine work, composite repairs, tanks, linings, panels or enclosures
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Previous hands‑on experience with GRP, fibreglass, resin, glass fibre, laminating, moulds, joints, pipework, ductwork or composite repairs
- Experience in GRP pipework, GRP ducting, hand lay-up, wet lay-up, fibreglass laminating or similar practical work
- Able to prepare and laminate joints to site specifications
- Reliable, practical and able to work effectively as part of a site-based project team
- Available quickly for the next available site induction
- Able to work the required 11-day rotation and contract duration
