Mechanical Design Engineer
Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the continued growth of its automation and engineering operations. This is a senior position, ideal for someone looking to take a step up, and the successful candidate will design innovative automated equipment, lead mechanical elements from concept through to delivery, and collaborate with experienced, cross functional engineering teams on solutions used across a range of industries.
Based in Dundalk, County Louth, this is a permanent opportunity within a multidisciplinary engineering environment. Permanent Senior Mechanical Design Engineer opportunity in Dundalk, County Louth.
Salary up to €60,000 per annum.
Lead innovative automation equipment designs from concept through to project delivery.
The Role:
* Lead and guide the Mechatronic team across assigned projects.* Design and develop automated equipment using SolidWorks 3D and 2D design tools.* Own mechanical design elements from concept through to delivery.* Design mechanisms, transfer systems, servo systems, robotics, pneumatics, electrical equipment and machine guarding.* Prepare, review and control technical project documentation.* Plan and prioritise work across multiple projects.* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to continuous improvement.* Manage design changes and follow the company quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001.
The Person:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automation, Electrical, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent discipline.* At least five years of industry experience and machine design experience.* Strong knowledge of automation principles and procedures.* Experience with SolidWorks and mechanical design of automated equipment.* Strong communication, organisational and problem solving skills.* Experience with robotics and safety standards would be advantageous.* Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11 and GAMP would be advantageous.
