With this role you’ll be joining a 180-strong engineering function sitting at the intersection of AI and one of the industries generative AI is set to transform most: services. The platform supports over 2,500 tax and legal professionals and thousands of clients, delivering everything from routine automated advice to complex, high-stakes decisions.

What you’ll bring

• Hands-on experience designing, specifying and building software end to end
• The ability to clearly articulate how generative AI can solve document management, workflow automation and knowledge management problems
• A track record of leading and mentoring engineers
• Strong experience in a modern object-oriented language (C# or Java)
• Deep knowledge of software design patterns, clean code and clean architecture
• Experience building REST APIs and working with messaging systems
• Confidence defining data models and working with databases
• Experience shipping user-facing web applications
• A collaborative, Agile mindset and a passion for best practice

What you’ll be doing

• Working in a lean Agile team using a scaled Scrum framework
• Building back-end services in C#/ASP.NET Core, with front-end work in TypeScript/React, ASP.NET MVC or Blazor
• Building cloud-first applications with strong unit test coverage, continuous delivery and 100% infrastructure-as-code
• Containerising and deploying applications via Azure Kubernetes Service
• Working with Entity Framework code-first data against Azure SQL or NoSQL databases
• Designing resilient microservices integrated via a cloud message bus
• Upholding secure coding and infrastructure standards
• Levelling up your own skills and sharing knowledge across the team
• Building reusable components other teams can build on
