Senior Consultant, Commodity & Energy Trading

Overview

Join Baringa’s Commodities and Energy Trading practice to help clients translate strategy into action across trading operations and IT landscapes. You will work on high-impact engagements shaping operating models, opening new markets, and embedding digital capabilities with ML/AI. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end transformations for energy and trading businesses. Responsibilities

• Shape operating models and target architecture for trading organisations during mergers
• Develop tools and processes to enable new trading markets for utilities
• Design and implement operating models for global trading and commodity lifecycles
• Lead digital transformation initiatives integrating ML/AI into client architectures
• Oversee trading solution transformations including upgrades and new products
• Deliver projects end-to-end in complex delivery environments

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering or related field
• Internships or up to five years in consulting or relevant industry role
• Strong understanding of power markets and trading mechanisms
• Ability to identify and structure business problems and translate requirements into practical solutions
• Proven track record of end-to-end project delivery
• Fluency in English; additional Nordic languages advantageous
