Cyber Security Engineer, (Cloud Security Specialist)

Overview

In this role you will protect multi-cloud environments by embedding security expertise into client cloud-native architectures. You’ll work closely with engineering, DevOps and security teams to implement Secure Architecture principles across AWS, Azure, and GCP. The position combines hands-on engineering with strategic advisory, client management and project delivery in a fast-growing security consulting context. You will contribute to security capabilities that support clients’ transformation and risk reduction. This is a client-facing role within KPMG’s Cyber Security function, with opportunities to shape security outcomes for diverse sectors including Defence.

Responsibilities

• Support projects or workstreams within larger programmes, coordinating with Partners, Directors and Senior Managers
• Plan and shape delivery of engagements, including work plans, timelines and resource allocation
• Provide input on security operations capabilities and services
• Build and manage client relationships on a daily basis

Key requirements

• Technical background with operational engineering experience
• Experience applying technology to solve client problems across a range of issues
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, architecture, IAM models, security monitoring and SIEM integration
• Hands-on experience in at least two cloud environments (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and VMware Cloud Foundation
• Experience securing multi-cloud or hybrid environments (greenfield and legacy)
• UK National Security Vetting eligibility
• Consulting experience in a professional services environment (Big 4 or equivalent) is desirable
