Support Worker (Day Opportunities Service)

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established charitable organisation that provides high-quality support services for adults with learning disabilities and additional support needs.

The Role
As a Support Worker, you will deliver person-centred support within a day opportunities service, helping adults engage in meaningful activities, develop life skills and work towards personal goals.
You will play a key role in promoting wellbeing, independence and social inclusion while working as part of a supportive and dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality person-centred support.
- Encourage independence and personal development.
- Support individuals to participate in activities and community engagement opportunities.
- Build positive, professional relationships with service users.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Promote safeguarding, dignity and respect at all times.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals.
- Support a range of indoor and outdoor activities where required.
Essential Criteria
- NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (or equivalent) OR a minimum of 12 months’ relevant experience.
- At least 6 months’ experience in a caring, support or educational environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Caring, dependable and person-centred approach.
- NISCC registered or willing to register.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities.
- Experience managing behaviours that challenge.
- Interest in community-based activities, gardening or outdoor projects.
- Previous experience within a day opportunities or community support setting.
