PLC Controls Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design, programme, test and commission industrial control systems for power solutions projects. You will work across diesel generator controls, switchgear/ATS/AMF panels and HMI/SCADA interfaces, spanning the full project lifecycle from design to on-site commissioning. You will collaborate with electrical design, project managers and clients to deliver safe, robust and maintainable systems that meet industry standards. A clear opportunity to shape control solutions for mission-critical power systems within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Design, programme, test and commission industrial control systems for power solutions projects
• Develop diesel generator controls, switchgear/ATS/AMF panels and load sharing/synchronisation strategies
• Create and validate HMI/SCADA interfaces
• Manage full project lifecycle (FDS/DDS, coding, FAT/SAT, on-site commissioning)
• Collaborate with electrical design, project managers and clients to ensure safety and maintainability
• Deliver systems that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements

Key requirements

• 5–10 years experience in PLC control systems
• Proficiency in PLC programming and industrial control system design
• Experience with HMI/SCADA interfaces
• Knowledge of diesel generator controls and switchgear/ATS/AMF panels
• On-site commissioning experience
• UK & USA government clearance
• Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams
• FDS/DDS, FAT/SAT knowledge or experience (preferred)
