Java Developer

Overview

Join WorldFirst as a Junior-Mid Java Developer to help design and deliver scalable, high-performance financial applications. You will collaborate with Product, QA and DevOps to refine requirements and ship robust software that supports millions of customers globally. You’ll write clean, efficient code, debug issues, and contribute to technical documentation and best practices. This role sits in a forward-thinking team focused on building the world-class platform for cross-border trade and payments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement Java-based applications with a focus on scalability and performance
• Write well-structured, efficient, and maintainable code
• Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing applications and apply fixes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine system requirements and deliver solutions
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high quality standards
• Create and maintain technical documentation for applications and processes
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Java technologies, frameworks, and best practices

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Solid proficiency in Java and related technologies (Java SE/EE)
• Experience with Spring and Spring Boot
• Basic understanding of databases and SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Familiarity with Git and version control
• Experience with RESTful APIs and web services
• Understanding of Agile methodologies
• Knowledge of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines
