Data Security Architect & Engineer – Manager

Overview

In this role you help clients secure data across cloud and on‑prem environments by designing and delivering data security solutions. You will work within Deloitte’s Technology and Transformation practice to shape architectures, drive secure implementation, and support ongoing operation. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams and contribute to client proposals, delivering measurable security outcomes. Responsibilities

• Define data security use cases, requirements, and technical specifications (data discovery, access governance, classification, DLP, encryption, masking, monitoring, compliance)
• Design high‑ and low‑level architectures aligned with business objectives and standards (NIST, ISO 27001)
• Integrate data security solutions with third‑party tools and cloud platforms (SIEM, Varonis, BigID, Azure)
• Create and maintain technical documentation and RACI for solution operation
• Implement and configure data security components in on‑prem and cloud environments; deploy DLP, integrate with enterprise apps
• Conduct testing (unit, integration, functional, non‑functional) and troubleshoot issues with vendors
• Provide post‑implementation hyper-care and advanced support
• Transfer knowledge to client data security teams and contribute to client proposals and bids

Key requirements

• Broad data security experience across discovery, classification, DLP, posture management, encryption, masking, governance, and privacy
• Hands‑on architecture and engineering for data security in cloud and on‑prem
• Experience with data security across Azure, AWS, Oracle, Google Cloud and related tools
• Understanding of GDPR/CCPA and data governance concepts
• DevOps familiarity and experience with Linux/Windows; experience with cloud and security tooling
• Strong client relationship skills and ability to manage diverse stakeholders
• Desirable: CISSP, CISM, CIPP/E, Microsoft Security/Identity certifications
