Business Analysis Associate Director (Platform Services)

Overview

In this role you will bridge product and technology to shape clear, technically precise requirements for a complex data and integration domain. You will lead a team of Business Analysts, owning analysis standards and delivery quality across the squad. Expect deep work on data mappings, interface contracts, and end-to-end processing while supporting solution analysis, testing, and production readiness. You will influence CMI capabilities that enable client-facing and internal workflows and drive disciplined analysis across delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Refine product priorities with the Product Owner and translate business objectives into actionable requirements
• Lead detailed analysis of data flows, transformations, and source-to-target mappings
• Document end-to-end system interactions, interfaces, processing sequences, and exception scenarios
• Review current-state behavior and technical docs to understand processing
• Create epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and mapping/flow documents
• Facilitate cross-functional sessions to resolve ambiguity and drive decisions
• Identify gaps, edge cases, data quality issues, and integration risks before development
• Ensure requirements are technically feasible and well-detailed for engineers
• Support test strategy, validate coverage and transformation logic
• Maintain traceability from objectives to delivered functionality
• Provide functional/technical analysis during implementation, release readiness, and production validation
• Establish and improve BA standards, templates, and documentation practices
• Mentor analysts and foster a culture of disciplined analysis and delivery ownership
• Lead and develop a team of BAs with coaching on techniques and quality
• Balance priorities and capacity across the squad while guiding analyst development
• Review deliverables for consistency, technical accuracy, and adherence to standards
• Build governance, reusable frameworks, and quality controls across the squad
• Define individual development plans and support career growth within BA discipline
• Lead analysis best practices and governance to improve delivery outcomes across platforms
• Serve as the functional leader for BA within the squad and set standards for quality and rigor

Key requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a technology/business/ systems analyst in complex application delivery
• Strong ability to work on data transformation mappings, interface specifications, system integrations, and end-to-end processing
• Solid understanding of APIs, messaging, files, events, batch processing, and synchronous/asynchronous interactions
• Ability to read and interpret JSON, XML, schemas, and logs, and understand database structures and SQL
• Experience writing detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, data mappings, process flows, and exception handling
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Proven track record of challenging assumptions, resolving ambiguity, and driving issues to closure across teams
• Experience in Agile delivery and collaboration with engineering and QA teams
• Experience leading or mentoring BAs, including coaching and performance development
• Proven ability to establish BA standards and drive consistent delivery practices
• Excellent communication skills and a delivery-oriented mindset
• Experience in financial services, post-trade processing, or market infrastructure
• Familiarity with APIs, JSON, XML, FIX, SWIFT, messaging, and secure file transfer
• Working knowledge of SQL, relational databases, data modeling, data lineage, and reconciliation
• Experience with integration modernization or platform transformation
• Knowledge of identity, authentication, authorization, and data access controls
• BA, Agile, Product, or related technical certifications
