Technology Modernization Director (Performance)

Overview

In this Director role, you will lead high-impact technology-focused transformations across industries, guiding clients from strategy to execution. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to shape digital and technology initiatives that improve performance and business value. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to executives, driving complex programs, including carve-outs, mergers, and large-scale improvements. This is a chance to influence technology strategy at scale in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, high-complexity projects from inception to completion with small, focused teams
• Deliver advanced tech and consulting expertise across strategy, due diligence, architecture, operating model, cost reduction, and turnaround initiatives
• Support technology strategy, governance design, and investment roadmaps to create value
• Drive technology transformation through outsourcing, end-to-end programs, and integration or separation efforts
• Develop intellectual capital, service offerings, and practical tools; build external networks and market presence
• Serve as an ambassador for the AlixPartners brand and maintain a client-focused service mentality
• Collaborate with PMDs and other Directors to ensure successful project delivery across engagements
• Advance internal processes and stay ahead of market demands to continuously improve and innovate
• Enable client outcomes by anticipating needs and delivering practical, impactful solutions
• Travel across EMEA as required and balance office/remote work in a hybrid model

Key requirements

• MBA or Master’s degree is advantageous, but Bachelor’s with relevant experience is acceptable
• Combination of consulting and industry experience with the ability to manage multiple workstreams
• Experience in IT strategy, cost optimization, software delivery, infrastructure and operations, architecture, governance, project management, and target operating models
• Experience implementing projects using various methodologies and frameworks
• Strong interest in technology and digital trends; ability to communicate with CXO/senior stakeholders
• Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and financial literacy skills
• Fluency in English; another language is advantageous
• Ability to travel within EMEA and work outside normal hours when needed
• Full-time office/remote work capability; comfortable with long screen-based work
