Senior Software Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer at General Reinsurance London Branch, you will build scalable, high-performance web and mobile applications on the .NET stack (Blazor, C#) and related technologies. You’ll be the lead for the Microsoft technology stack, collaborating with international teams to deliver both internal and external-facing solutions. You will implement Azure cloud services to improve performance and reliability and help shape best coding standards. This role offers exposure to a global reinsurance context and a chance to influence technical direction and solution design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, support and deploy web and mobile applications based on .NET (Blazor, C#)
• Gather customer software requirements and develop related software applications
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and team members to design scalable and efficient solutions
• Implement Azure Cloud Services and features that enhance performance and reliability
• Research and evaluate software technologies and products
• Design and develop testing and maintenance procedures
• Develop and write high-quality coding standards

Key requirements

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related subject or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in software development in the .NET environment with C#
• Experience with ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework Core
• Experience with iterative methodologies (Scrum or Design Thinking) and DevOps platforms (Azure DevOps and Git)
• Experience with Azure Cloud Services (Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Azure App Service)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform (plus)
• Experience in the reinsurance or insurance sectors (plus)
