Overview

In this role you will lead advanced document control activities for major engineering projects, applying expert EDMS knowledge to ensure compliant, timely delivery of documentation. You will coordinate cross-disciplinary teams, drive process improvements, and act as the project’s document control expert with clients and vendors. Your impact lies in enabling seamless information flow, audit readiness, and adherence to project standards and budgets. This is a strategic leadership position within General Services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Document Management team for assigned work area and ensure delivery within schedule and budget
  • Coordinate discipline interfaces and ensure clear deliverables and progress tracking
  • Develop and maintain the Document Management Execution Plan and related work instructions
  • Own the setup and maintenance of the project EDMS to meet Client and McDermott requirements
  • Advise Project Management on Document Management issues and interfaces
  • Manage staffing plans and budgets for projects to ensure adequate resources
  • Act as point of contact for Client, Suppliers, Subcontractors on day-to-day DM issues
  • Support training for project personnel in Documentation procedures and systems (Unifi)
  • Participate in audits and provide status reports on DM workload and issues
  • Archive project records and capture lessons learned for management
  • Ensure seamless information sharing across MOPEX and JV partners
  • Deliver handover documentation per contractual requirements

Key requirements

  • 15-20 years of experience in Document Management with major contractor or consultant
  • Professional/Post-graduate/Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong knowledge of EDMS software, MS Office, and Adobe
  • Proficiency with Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Project
  • Experience with industry EDMS tools and onshore/offshore projects
  • Leadership ability to work as a team member and lead when required
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and detail-oriented skills
  • Strong communication, business acumen, and decision-making capabilities
  • Certified iDocs Trainer (preferable)
  • Ability to recruit, interview, hire, and manage staffing levels
