Project Manager – Water

Overview

In this role you will lead delivery of water and wastewater projects from Bristol, ensuring on-time, on-specification results within budget while upholding safety and customer satisfaction. You will work closely with clients, JV partners, and suppliers to plan, execute, and document project plans, maintaining high standards and professional development. This is a hands-on, impact-driven leadership position in an integrated design-and-build environment with hybrid working. You will help shape delivery quality and safety culture at scale.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety and delivery quality standards across direct and subcontracted teams
• Maintain strong client relationships at all levels and manage stakeholder expectations
• Foster good relationships with joint venture partners and suppliers
• Ensure adequate trained personnel for project needs
• Plan projects and approve the Project Execution Plan (PEP)
• Prepare and approve detailed construction plans and method statements
• Ensure complete records per the PEP are available at contract completion
• Report site non-conformities and estimate related costs
• Proactively manage all commercial aspects of the project
• Support continuous professional development through external networking and training
• Understand and implement quality, safety, and environmental policies and targets
• Maintain knowledge of technical disciplines for water and wastewater project delivery

Key requirements

• Experience in managing multi-disciplinary design and construction projects, ideally within the water industry
• Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction, commercial, or engineering related discipline
• Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent
• Delivery-driven with ability to set targets and manage multi-disciplinary teams
• Experience in project delivery
• Strategic, operational, technical, and management skills
• Knowledge of NEC Construction Contracts
• Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety
