Structural Project Engineer

Overview

As a Structural Project Engineer in Bristol, you will lead design and delivery of diverse building projects across sectors, from concept to construction. You’ll work within a collaborative Building Structures team that values technical excellence and mentorship. You’ll take ownership, support junior staff, and engage with clients, architects and contractors to deliver buildable, high-quality solutions. Responsibilities

• Manage own workload and packages of work
• Produce high-quality structural designs
• Coordinate with technicians and prepare calculations/reports
• Liaise with clients, architects and contractors
• Contribute to project delivery from concept through construction
• Support junior engineers and foster their development

Key requirements

• 3–6 years’ UK buildings structures experience
• Strong design capability across steel, concrete, masonry and timber
• Experience using Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, Robot, ETABS or similar
• Confidence producing calculations and coordinating with technicians
• Ability to manage packages of work and contribute to project delivery
• Good communication skills for client/architect/contractor liaison
• Proactive approach and willingness to mentor junior engineers
• BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Chartered or working towards with IStructE or ICE
