Director/Vice President, Investment, Data Centre (Based in London, United Kingdom)

Overview

In this role you will lead the Group’s data centre investment activities across the UK and Europe, overseeing acquisitions, development projects and M&A opportunities. You will originate opportunities, drive investment execution, and support the growth of our regional data centre platform. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external advisers to shape strategy, evaluate markets, and optimize returns. This is a high-impact role at the core of portfolio growth and value creation in a fast-paced, market-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive strategies for UK/European data centre markets, pursuing and evaluating new opportunities
• Build strategic relationships with market participants, operators, developers, advisers and capital partners
• Originate and assess investment opportunities, including site feasibility, power, connectivity, development risk, tenant demand and competitiveness
• Formulate market entry/exit strategies to optimise returns with deep-dive analyses
• Develop and implement plans to source acquisition and investment opportunities for growth and profitability
• Lead end-to-end investment transactions: origination, research, evaluation, structuring, modelling, approval, negotiation and execution
• Collaborate with development, asset management, legal, finance and tax teams, and external advisers to support transactions and portfolio growth

Key requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Building, Real Estate, Business, Finance or a related discipline
• CFA qualification would be an added advantage
• At least 12 years of relevant experience in UK/European real estate investments, acquisitions, development projects or M&A
• Prior exposure to data centres, infrastructure or related asset classes preferred
• Strong analytical capability and proficiency in financial modelling
• Proven track record in originating, evaluating, underwriting and executing investment transactions
• Experience in site selection, business development and/or development management in data centre property investments preferred
• Excellent leadership, initiative, sound judgement and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
