Staff Site Reliability Engineer

Overview

As Staff Engineer, you own the reliability, performance, security and integrity of the analytical data platform that powers MystraAI. You set technical direction while line-managing a small team, blending deep hands-on work with strategic leadership. You will shape a secure, multi-tenant data foundation at petabyte scale and drive Data-as-a-Service as a product. This role sits at the intersection of large-scale infrastructure and meaningful science, offering a chance to impact drug discovery and preventive healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Architect and operate multi-tenant ClickHouse clusters at petabyte scale, optimizing sharding, replication, materialised views and query performance
• Own SLOs, observability, capacity planning and incident response for data-intensive systems and pipelines
• Shape Data-as-a-Service as a product with secure, immutable releases and scalable data discoverability
• Power MystraAI by ensuring secure, tenant-scoped data access and collaborating with ML teams on performance
• Embed security as a core architectural concern: isolation, secrets management and least-privilege access
• Set technical direction, mentor engineers, and line-manage a small IC2/IC3 team

Key requirements

• Extensive experience with large-scale OLAP and ClickHouse, including multi-tenant design and upstream code contributions
• Strong reliability engineering discipline: SLOs, observability, capacity planning and incident response for data platforms
• Experience productising data as a service: secure, multi-tenant, immutable releases and discoverability at scale
• Ability to expose platform data to agents safely and at scale with guardrails and isolation
• Security-by-design mindset: tenant isolation and robust secrets management
• Technical leadership: able to drive direction, mentor engineers and lead a small team while staying hands-on
