Data Engineer

Overview

As a Data API Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain data-driven REST APIs and supporting data pipelines that power analytics, ML insights, and fraud-reduction recommendations. You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product managers to translate business questions into scalable software, contributing to high-impact data use cases across the company. The role emphasizes building low-latency Python Flask APIs, data ingestion (batch and stream), and deployment on Kubernetes. You’ll contribute to reliability, observability, and maintainability of data-driven applications in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines and scalable Python Flask API applications
• Develop data ingestion for batch and stream processing using SQL (Postgres) and NoSQL (Redis)
• Expose REST API endpoints on Kubernetes via API Gateway (KONG)
• Ensure API reliability, latency, and accuracy
• Write clean, tested code and documentation (Python, SQL, PySpark optional)
• Work with containerization and Kubernetes (ArgoCD) deployments
• Collaborate with data analysts/scientists/product managers to deliver actionable data solutions
• Participate in code reviews, planning, and agile ceremonies
• Implement data quality checks and support observability and testing practices
• Document data sources, transformations, and architecture decisions
