Team Lead Java Developer – J2EE, Spring, Maven Tomcat

Overview

As Team Lead Java Developer, you will steer the development of a web-based platform built on Java AWS. You’ll balance stabilising the current stack with delivering greenfield features, guiding a team of junior engineers and shaping the platform’s future. You work in a fast-growing, flat-structured environment that values thoughtful, high-quality tech decisions. This role offers impact through scale, modernization, and hands-on leadership in a fintech-like setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and stabilization of the web platform
• Direct and mentor a team of junior developers
• Deliver greenfield functionality while modernising existing components
• Ensure services run reliably and efficiently (DevOps mindset)
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams to align with product goals
• Document, maintain, and improve the stack (Maven/Spring/Tomcat)
• Engage in platform shaping and architectural decisions

Key requirements

• 7 years commercial Java J2EE experience
