Overview

In this role you will shape lending decisions across consumer portfolios within a modern, data-driven Credit Strategy and Decision Science function. You will own and optimise credit strategies across the customer lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive responsible, sustainable growth. You will uncover portfolio trends and opportunities through rigorous analytics and translate insights into practical strategies. You will work closely with decision science and senior stakeholders to maximise model performance and outcomes, in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own, develop and optimise credit risk strategies across the customer lifecycle
  • Lead analytical investigations to identify portfolio trends, risks and opportunities
  • Support optimisation of the V12 retail finance portfolio through data-driven strategy changes
  • Support development of embedded finance propositions with robust credit strategy and analytics
  • Monitor portfolio performance and recommend strategy changes to improve outcomes
  • Produce high-quality analysis and recommendations for senior stakeholders
  • Use SQL, Python, SAS or similar tools to solve problems and automate processes
  • Collaborate with Decision Scientists to understand predictive models and maximise model performance
  • Support junior analysts in day-to-day analytical and risk management activities
  • Collaborate with Finance, Product, Operations and Technology on strategic initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation and customer outcomes

Key requirements

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a quantitative discipline
  • Extensive experience in Credit Risk Strategy, Portfolio Analytics or Decision Science
  • Experience developing and optimising credit strategies within consumer lending
  • Strong understanding of portfolio management, underwriting strategies and lifecycle optimization
  • Experience using Credit Reference Agency data and decisioning systems
  • Strong SQL skills with SAS or Python or similar tools
  • Experience producing insight for senior stakeholders and influencing business decisions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in unsecured consumer lending or related products is advantageous
  • Experience supporting new lending propositions or partnerships is beneficial
