Lead Engineer

Overview

In this role you provide day-to-day support and guidance to the regional engineering team, plan and monitor maintenance tasks, and coordinate with the Scheduler to use engineering resources effectively. You ensure service performance aligns with compliance and schedules, and respond promptly to customer needs. You oversee toolbox talks, site surveys, handovers, and small project delivery, while deputising for the Regional Service Manager as required. You support quotations, stock control, and cross-functional delivery to sustain service quality.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day guidance to the engineering team in your area
• Plan, monitor, and execute maintenance tasks in collaboration with the Scheduler
• Ensure compliance with performance and monthly schedules
• Respond to customer needs and complaints with urgency
• Complete toolbox talks and maintain compliance records
• Attend site surveys and handovers as directed by RSM
• Organise and communicate an effective regional call-out rota
• Deliver minor works within the area using dedicated resources
• Deputise for Regional Service Manager during sickness/holiday periods
• Assist RSM in managing the engineering team and stock control
• Assist with troublesome sites and complaints
• Provide technical support to DRS and Sales with quotations
• Initial planning of ppm on large/complex sites and meetings with customers
• Support delivery of small bespoke projects and ensure on-time delivery
• Promote appropriate behaviour across the team (portals, timesheets, PPE)
• Utilise customer portals as directed by RSM and adhere to customer requirements
• Take ownership of all customers regarding service delivery
• Be available for overtime and weekend work as required
