As a Java Engineer in a small, tech‑driven hedge fund, you will own development and production support for trading systems. You’ll work closely with a tight-knit team to scale and improve high‑performance, open‑source–driven infrastructure. You’ll shape next‑gen strategies leveraging rich market data and ML, while delivering reliable, low‑latency software. This role combines autonomy with mentorship in a fast, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Full lifecycle agile development of the trading system
• Production support and weekend releases as needed
• Collaborate on building next‑gen, data‑driven trading strategies
• Ensure testing discipline (TDD) and robust CI/CD pipelines
• Gain deep exposure to trading infrastructure and market data flows
• Self‑drain training and adoption of new technologies as required

Key requirements

• 2:1 Computer Science from a Red Brick UK or EU University
• 3 years software development experience in a small firm
• Strong A Levels
• Java
• Python
• Ideally Cloud Architecture or model deployment on the cloud
• GCP
• Fundamentals of OO programming, threading, concurrency, distributed systems
