Lead Software Engineer – Python / Java – AI -Markets Technology, Credit Pre-Trade Technology

Overview

As Lead Software Engineer in Credit Technology, you drive the design and delivery of scalable, secure software solutions that empower AI-enabled trading capabilities. You will work closely with Credit Sales and Trading partners to translate strategy into technical outcomes, building and modernizing AI-driven platforms. Your hands-on leadership ensures production-quality code, system resilience, and fast issue resolution while advancing AI-powered engineering practices. This role offers a chance to shape pivotal trading technology in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement new systems, hands-on, using modern engineering practices and AI-assisted coding
• Build and support AI-native systems to enhance eTrading capabilities and modernize legacy systems
• Engage with Credit Sales and Trading to understand needs and deliver technical solutions with Product teams
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review others’ work
• Improve operational stability by automating recurring issues and monitoring KPIs
• Partner with L1 support to ensure reliability and rapid incident response
• Lead architecture discussions with external vendors and internal teams to assess applicability
• Drive communities of practice to propagate new technologies across the team
• Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect

Key requirements

• 5+ years in system design, application development, testing, and operations using Python, Java, or C++
• Hands-on experience with AI components and their application in modern tech stacks
• Foundational knowledge of AWS services and cloud-native practices
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Strong understanding of SDLC and agile practices (CI/CD, Application Resiliency, Security)
• Experience working with production systems and collaborating with support teams
• Interest in financial markets and ability to work with Credit Sales and Trading teams
• Effective communication and a passion for AI-driven engineering
