Security Architect (Cloud Security)

Overview

In this contract role, you will lead cloud security across enterprise and government environments, shaping secure architectures and guiding transformation programmes. You will work with technical and business stakeholders to embed security into design, deployment and operations of cloud solutions. Expect risk reviews, security architecture governance, and advisory support across multi-cloud platforms. The role requires active SC clearance and offers remote and site-visits as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design secure cloud architectures aligned with business and security requirements
• Provide technical leadership on cloud security initiatives and transformation programmes
• Conduct cloud security assessments and risk reviews
• Define and maintain cloud security standards, patterns, and reference architectures
• Support secure design and implementation of cloud infrastructure and services
• Review solution designs and offer security recommendations throughout project lifecycle
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to meet security requirements
• Identify security risks and mitigation options
• Support governance, risk, compliance, and assurance activities
• Contribute to security roadmaps and continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide guidance on cloud security monitoring, threat management, and incident response capabilities
• Support managed cloud security service engagements when required

Key requirements

• Proven experience as a Security Architect in complex enterprise or government environments
• Strong expertise in Cloud Security Planning, Cloud Infrastructure Security, Cloud Security Architecture, Cloud Security Assessments, Managed Cloud Security Services
• Experience designing secure cloud solutions in AWS, Azure, or multi-cloud
• Deep understanding of security architecture principles, frameworks, and best practices
• Experience conducting security reviews, threat modelling, and risk assessments
• Knowledge of IAM, network security, encryption, and security monitoring
• Experience integrating security into cloud transformation and migration programmes
• Ability to communicate security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
