Financial Controller

Overview

As Financial Controller in Rotherham, you will lead accounting operations, reporting, budgeting and controls to support growth and operational excellence. You will partner with the Senior Leadership Team and report to the General Manager, with a dotted line to the Financial Director, guiding strategic decision-making. You will drive SAP readiness and ensure compliance and robust financial processes while supporting business transformation and cross-functional initiatives. This role offers impact in a manufacturing context with a global reach.

Responsibilities

• Act as a proactive finance business partner to the General Manager and Senior Leadership Team
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and management reports
• Manage general ledger, cost and inventory accounting, accounts payable and revenue recognition
• Develop budgets and forecasts with department managers to drive performance and accountability
• Maintain robust internal controls, compliance and risk management
• Support month-end and year-end close and regulatory reporting
• Provide financial insight and decision support to improve performance
• Lead the SAP Readiness Project coordinating finance and cross-functional activities
• Support business transformation, process improvement and change management initiatives

Key requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• CIMA qualification (or equivalent)
• At least 5 years in a Financial Controller or senior finance role
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis
• Experience with month-end/year-end close and statutory reporting
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
• Strong stakeholder management, business partnering and project leadership skills
