Engineering Lead

Overview

In this Platform Engineering leadership role at Moneybox, you will lead and contribute hands-on to scalable backend systems while guiding delivery across multiple teams. You’ll shape roadmaps, define operating models, and ensure high standards as the team grows. You’ll work closely with cross-functional partners to align technical design with business goals and impact. Responsibilities

• Actively builds, reviews, and operates production systems
• Manage software delivery across teams through both individual and team contributions
• Collaborate on delivery roadmap, identify dependencies, communicate progress
• Create and update operating models aligned with business goals
• Own technical solution design for significant product features and initiatives
• Manage, coach, and mentor staff; define clear career development paths
• Set high standards and improve internal processes
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies

Key requirements

• Proven hands-on software engineering experience in a similar role
• Ability to participate in technical and commercial discussions
• Experience designing, developing, releasing, and maintaining scalable, fault-tolerant systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with end-to-end delivery experience
• Experience building high-performing teams with mentoring at all levels
• Solid understanding of OO programming, relational databases, REST APIs, and live services
