Software Engineer I

Overview

As a Software Engineer on the Data Platform team, you will help build scalable data systems that power insights and AI-driven security capabilities. You will work with cross-functional teams to implement reliable microservices on AWS, mentor peers, and maintain architecture documentation. You’ll monitor usage, optimize costs, and contribute to an AI-first engineering culture. This role offers impactful work at scale within a cybersecurity-focused data platform.

Responsibilities

• Implement scalable, reliable microservices on AWS infrastructure
• Mentor junior engineers and foster collaborative growth
• Create and maintain technical documentation for architectures and processes
• Provide support during incidents and implement preventive measures
• Monitor AWS usage and propose cost-saving optimizations without sacrificing performance

Key requirements

• Collaborative team player with mentoring experience
• Java development with Java 11+
• Backend data processing experience on AWS
• Hands-on with foundational AWS services (ALB, ECS, S3, ElastiCache, IAM, CloudWatch)
• Knowledge of Kafka-based event-driven services
• Proficiency in relational or NoSQL databases (design/optimization)
• Experience with AI-powered development tools (Cursor, Claude)
• Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines
