Key Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:Respond to breakdown calls as the first responder on shiftDiagnose faults across mechanical and electrical/instrumentation systems independentlyCarry out emergency repairs safely under Lead Engineer directionPerform fault-finding on PLCs, sensors, drives and control panelsCarry out mechanical repairs including bearings, gearboxes, conveyors and pumpsCarry out electrical repairs including motors, starters, switchgear and wiring faultsSafely isolate and reinstate equipment under Permit to Work proceduresComplete CMMS breakdown work orders with accurate fault descriptions and actions takenProvide technical input to Lead Engineer during RCA investigationsSupport production restart and sign off equipment for return to serviceExecute PPM work orders assigned by the Lead Engineer through the CMMSCarry out condition monitoring including vibration, thermal imaging and lubricationPerform electrical testing including insulation resistance, earth continuity and PATInspect and maintain control panels, junction boxes and cable runs
Required Maintenance Engineer Experience:Essential Experience:Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical engineering experienceExperience working within FMCG, food manufacturing or high-volume manufacturingStrong experience responding to breakdowns and diagnosing equipment faults independentlyExperience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenanceStrong fault-finding experience across PLCs, sensors, drives and control panelsExperience with mechanical equipment including bearings, gearboxes, conveyors and pumpsExperience with electrical equipment including motors, starters, switchgear and wiringExperience using a CMMS to complete maintenance work orders and update asset recordsExperience working with Permit to Work and safe isolation proceduresQualifications & Experience:City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification (required)Mechanical and Electrical/E&I engineering qualificationExperience with PLC fault-finding and control systemsExperience with vibration monitoring, thermal imaging and lubrication-based condition monitoringExperience with ATEX equipment and hazardous-area inspectionsExperience with RCA and corrective actionsExperience with 5-Why / Fishbone RCAExperience working within a BRCGS-accredited food manufacturing environment
