Lead Child Protection Practitioner

Overview

In this role you will strengthen relationship-based safeguarding, lead multi-agency responses, and improve outcomes for children and families. You will chair complex child protection conferences and strategy discussions, ensuring decisions are timely, evidence-based and child-focused. You will provide practice leadership and quality assurance across the partnership, including reflective case discussions, audits and performance activity. This position sits within the Families First Partnership Programme and MACPTs, contributing to outstanding safeguarding practice across the council.

• exercise the local authority’s statutory child protection decision-making responsibilities
• champion participation and the voice of the child
• ensure decisions and plans are evidence-based, timely and robust
