Overview

As a Senior Inclusive Environments Consultant, you help embed inclusive thinking across projects in the built environment. You’ll work with cross‑functional teams to challenge barriers and deliver practical inclusive design solutions. The role spans sectors and scales, from strategy to delivery, with opportunities to lead workstreams and shape client relationships. This position offers meaningful work on education, workplaces, culture, transport, health, and urban developments, with hybrid flexibility across UK locations.

Responsibilities

• Undertake inclusive design reviews and accessibility audits across diverse project types
• Advise clients and teams on accessibility, inclusive design, neuroinclusion, sensory design and user experience
• Represent the firm as a trusted voice in meetings, workshops and design reviews
• Prepare clear reports, recommendations and actionable guidance
• Support stakeholder engagement with diverse user groups
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, designers, clients and stakeholders to develop inclusive solutions
• Contribute to presentations, workshops and project discussions
• Lead workstreams, manage projects and develop client relationships (depending on level)
• Support business development, bids, thought leadership and knowledge sharing
• Manage time across a varied portfolio and contribute to team growth and culture

Key requirements

• Background in inclusive design, accessibility, architecture, engineering, planning, engagement, research or related built environment discipline
• Genuine passion for inclusive design and diverse environments
• Experience or knowledge in built environment, design, accessibility, engagement or related field
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards, legislation and inclusive design principles
• Ability to translate complex issues into clear, practical client guidance
• Confident collaboration with clients, design teams and stakeholders
• Strong communication and presentation skills as a trusted adviser
• Proactive, collaborative approach with curiosity and willingness to learn
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Interest in developing specialist expertise in accessibility, neuroinclusion, sensory design, user experience or stakeholder engagement
• For Senior Consultant level: experience leading projects, managing client relationships and guiding teams
